In order to fight unemployment, poverty and gender-based discrimination of internally displaced people and women, Volkshilfe has started two new projects in the Ukraine.
Project 1: "Supporting labor market integration of disadvantaged groups in Czernowitz"
The central task of this project is the further development of professional and personal skills and abilities of the project beneficiaries, with the aim of improving the long-term labor market integration of internally displaced people and women. This is achieved through a range of professional training courses, the establishment of a local network and an information campaign. The project also includes measures to develop the capacity of the local partner organization and an exchange with the east of Ukraine (Dnipro) to promote exchange between the host society and IDPs. The project is financed by the Austrian Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, Volkshilfe and a small part by the project partner in Czernowitz.
Project 2: "Ukraine - EduPower - Empowerment of women through education"
This project supports women in developing skills that are relevant to the job market - both professional as well as personal - through targeted training, advice and mutual exchange. It builds on already existing structures, networks and communities, which resulted from the cooperation between Volkshilfe and NDU, the project beneficiaries and the city of Czernowitz. The project is financed by the City of Vienna, Volkshilfe and a small part by the project partner in Czernowitz.
